STEP 1
We will start our trip with the discovery of South and Eastern Africa (Sept Oct 08), then West Africa (Nov Dec 08):
- Road trip across South Africa for 20 days with a rental car, from Johannesburg to Cape Town
- Overland trip with the travel agency "Africa Travel & Co". For 36 days we will travel through Namibia, Bostwana, Zambia, Malawi and Tanazania with a group of other travellers
- Volontunterring in Mali for 5 weeks
- Christmas in family in Senegal for a week
Then South America (Jan 09 to August 09):
- January 09: 4 weeks of volunteering work in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Delphine will help making up costumes and organising the Carnaval for a Samba school. Laurent will work in a community centre for youngsters from the favelas.
- February 09: Visit the North East coast of Brazil during 3 weeks, from Rio to the paradise of Jericoacoara, while passing by Salvador de Bahia and Fortaleza
- End of February 09: Back to Rio for the Carnival 2009 during one week
- March 09: Backpacking trip in Argentina during 5 weeks. Buenos Aires during 10 days, and then backpacking through Patagonia for 3 weeks
- Beginning of April 09: Back to Buenos Aires for a week and trip to the North of Argentina to see the Iguazu falls, at the borders of Brazil and Paraguay
- April 09: Visit of Southern Brazil for one month. From the island of Santa Catarina, we will pass by the town of Curitiba, the villages of Morretes and Antonina, the island of Ilha Grande, and be back Rio de Janeiro for one week
- Mid May 09: Flight to the state of Bahia, Brazil, about 1200 km north of Rio for two weeks. Salvador, Imbassai, Praia do Forte. We welcome Delphine's parents for a week
- End of May 09: Back to Rio de Janeiro with the parents of Delphine for a short week
- End of May - Beg. of June 09: Two weeks of fitness in Buzios, 200km north of Rio on the atlantic coast
- Beginning of June 09: Back to Rio to welcome Laurent's Mum. Visit of Rio during a few days, then one week on the coast 300kms west of Rio: Paraty.
- Mid June - Mid July 09: Backpacking through Bolivia for a month. Outlining program: Santa Cruz, Potosi, Uyuni and La Paz
- Mid - End July 09: Backpacking through Peru for 2 to 3 weeks. Outlining program: the lake Titicaca, Cuzco, Machu Picchu
Then Central America (August 09 to Sept 09):
- August 09: Visit the island of Cuba for one month
- Beg Sept - 20 Sept: Mexico, from Mexico to Cancun
Back to South America (Sept 09 to Dec 09):
- 20 Sept - fend Octobre 09: Volonteering for 6/7 weeks in Peru
- Novembre - 15 Dec 09: Backpacking through Peru and Equador
Back to Central America : Christmas with the family in Costa Rica (10 days)
Le Pacifique (Jan 10 à Mars 10):

November - mid December 09:Backpacking through New Zealandfor 6 weeks
STEP 2
Working in Australia for a year (April 10 to June 11):
Our project is to settle down in Sydney and get some work to fund our living and the 3rd year of our trip.
Being French we will be able to work without a specific working Visa for a period of one year and before our 31st birthday - September 2010 for old Delphine.
Laurent intends to work as a Consulting Engineer in building services while Delphine to work in a financial or cultural organisation.
During this second year we will take the opportunity to visit this amazing and vast territory.
STEP 3
Asia (July 11 to ... ):
In Julyy 2011, with hopefully a bank account back to comfortable level, we will put our backpacks back up and leave to discover the Asian continent. We have not detailed yet the contents of our expediation and will work on it on the next two years. We have yet already thought of the following:
- Backpacking in South East Asia
- Discovery of China
- Volunteering projects in Vietnam, Birmania, India
- Trecking in Nepal, Tibet
Révision of 01 July 2009 :
The magic of travelling is the feeling of freedom. Feeling free to travel, free to go anywhere we like, free to change our plans at anytime.
Although we were supposed tu embark on a boat in August to cross the PAcific, we suddendly had a magical odea. Why not stying a bit more in South America?? We've always been attracted by Cuba (to see the Castro's regime) and had been regreting about giving up our volunteering project in Peru.
We smash up the second financial security barrier and continue our adventure in America !! We have only got ne life ... and have to enjoy it fully ! This new plan is also benefitting regarding our next job search in Australia, giving a bit more time to the crisis to reabsorb itself.
